Nothing says farm life like a rooster crowing in the morning…..and in the afternoon and in the evening! Anyone who thinks a rooster only crows in the morning doesn’t have chickens! We couldn’t bring our whole flock to Virginia when we moved but we did bring 6 chickens, 2 roosters and 4 hens. Unfortunately, our cute little rooster disappeared the first week (we think a hawk got him) but the other 5 happily free ranged around the property. Ken had built a chicken tractor a while back to separate the smaller chickens and we were using that but we needed something bigger. Enter, the run down barn at one end of the property.
